Right of Way Permits are required for all activities performed within the
Town owned right of way. These activities include the installation of storm
drainage, connections to the Town drainage system, such as cellar or sump
pump discharges, driveway aprons, or any other activity within the limits of
Town rights of way. This also includes portions of sprinkler systems if they
are located within the right of way. Permits are required for Contractors
hired by the property owner. They are also required if the property owner
is performing the work themselves.
Permits are issued to Contractors licensed by the Town, providing they
show proof of insurance and submit performance bonding. The charge
for a permit is currently $35.00
Property owners that are doing work themselves, but in the town right of
way adjacent to their property, are issued permits at no charge.
Work performed in the Town owned right of way without a Permit is in
violation of the Code of Ordinances.
Any questions regarding the requirements or issuance of Right of Way
Permits can be answered by calling (860) 652-7735 or by Email to any of
