For emergencies that involve actual or potential injuries, threaten loss of life or property damage dial 911. For electrical power outages, call Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) @ 947-2000; for loss of gas service, call Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG) @ 524-8361; for loss of water, call The Metropolitan District (MDC) @ 247-6487; for AT&T residential telephone repair, call 800-246-8464 and for Cox Communications residential services, call 800-955-9515.

To report suspicious activity that may be related to terrorism, report all suspicious activity to the Terrorism Tips Hotline by calling 1-866-457-8477 (24 Hr. toll free hotline). All calls will be kept confidential.

Shelters and Sand Availability

To find a shelter in an emergency, tune into 1570 AM on your radio or call 652-7578.

Sand is available for icy conditions from the Town of Glastonbury at behind the Town Hall at 2155 Main Street or the Town Garage at 2380 New London Turnpike.

Sand Bags are available commercially from Constantine Hardware or Melzen Farm Supply. These are only bags in which the home/business owner has to fill with sand.. One exception is “Tuber Log Sand Bags”. These are a much smaller bag containing sand. They are used for windows/door sills to channel water.
