General Voter Information

NEW VOTER REGISTRATION:
Any U. S. citizen 18 years or older and a bona fide resident of this town is eligible to vote. If you are 17 years old, but will be 18 years old by Election Day, 11/2/2010, you may "pre-register" and you will become a voter on your 18th birthday.

Register in person at the Registrars Office at 2155 Main Street, Glastonbury during normal business hours, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Tuesday through Thursday, with extended hours Monday through Friday during election time. The last date to register in person is Tuesday, October 26th, 2010. Registration in person may also be accommodated at the Town Clerk’s Office which is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Mail-in registration cards may be obtained at various public locations such as libraries, schools, Department of Motor Vehicles, or Town Offices. Completed mail-in registration cards must be postmarked by Tuesday, October 19, 2010 for eligibility in the November election. 


NEW VOTER REGISTRATION EXCEPTIONS TO DEADLINE:
Any person who achieves the following status on or after October 26th, 2010 may register to vote on November 1, 2010 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm during this limited registration session:

1. Reach 18 years of age
2. Become a naturalized citizen
3. Become a new resident of the Town of Glastonbury


REGISTERED VOTER'S RELOCATIONS:
Currently registered voters, who have changed their residence within the town, should notify the Registrar of Voters as soon as possible in order to adjust the voter list with the correct information. All changes should be completed by the in person deadline of October 26, 2010 at 8:00 PM to be on the regular voting list at the corresponding Polling location.

INACTIVE VOTERS:
Any voter who has become inactive is eligible to have their voting privilege restored by notifying the Registrar of Voters and signing a restoration form, stating under penalty of fine, that their residence has not changed. The Registrar will restore their voting privilege for the November 2, 2010 Municipal Election and ongoing. These restoration forms should be completed in person by the October 26th deadline.


REMOVED VOTERS:
Any voter who has been removed must complete a new voter registration application form in person by the October 26, 2010 deadline, or mail-in by the Tuesday, October 19th deadline, subject to the same laws and requirements as new voters, to have their voting privilege initiated once again.
