NOTARY PUBLIC SERVICE
Notary Public service is available at the Town Clerk’s office. Two signed forms of identification must be presented to have a document notarized. One form of ID must be a photo ID (driver’s license, passport).
NEW NOTARY PUBLIC COMMISSIONS
Notary public commissions are issued by the Secretary of the State’s Office in Hartford. Applications are available at the Town Clerk’s office. Notaries must record their commission at the Town Clerk’s office in the town where they reside. They may also record them in the town where they do business.
Recording fees are as follows:
Original commission of Notary Public $10.00
Renewal commission $10.00
Change of name only $1.00
Change of address within town $0.00
Change of address to new town $10.00
On occasion the Town Clerk’s office is called upon to certify a Notary’s signature. This service is provided for a $2.00 fee.
