The Health Department is responsible for preserving and protecting the public's health. Environmental health programs include water, sewage, food protection, epidemiological investigations, and housing. Disease surveillance and follow-up of communicable diseases is also a priority for the Department. Staff members investigate environmental and public health complaints and concerns, provide educational programs on health issues, and also provide screening and immunization for high risk groups.
